Silhouettes Refined

The final products of our three-week silhouettes assignment! Yay! Week one was the simple silhouettes. During week two, we went over them with white out to test a good variety of designs. And week three was dedicated to refining our designs into these finished line drawings.

Silhouettes

The silhouette assignment for Character Design - our 4 themes were spacemen, witches, female construction workers, and butlers.

Some recent sketchbook pages, still learning how to use that Pitt Pen.

Shapes & Natural Design

Another assignment for Character Design - take a random fun shape and make a character out of it. I did this one twice cause it was fun.

For this one, we were to study elements of nature (rocks, trees, and clouds) in our sketchbooks, then design a character incorporating two of those elements. So I made an elk/boar/thing out of tree and cloud.

French Maid & Country Boy

Our first assignment for Character Design and Visual Development.

New Semester, New Sketchbook

Since I got back to school, I've been sketchbooking more than I ever have in my life - about 35 pages a week so far. It's been very good for me. And at the suggestion of Ryan Woodward, I've abandoned using pencil for sketching, so I'm making friends with my Pitt Pens, Microns, Prismacolors, and Sharpies. These are just a couple of my recent pages, all drawn from life, except for the bird-mask guy.

Went to Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise - reestablished that I do indeed suck at drawing cars
